Minnesota Oncology is pleased to welcome Brian Meger, Pharm. D., as the new manager of Minnesota Oncology’s pharmacy services, including the full-service on-site pharmacy at the Maplewood Cancer Center.
Meger brings a retail pharmacy background to Minnesota Oncology, having spent his career as a pharmacy manager for Cub Foods, most recently in Shakopee. He received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota – Duluth.
“I am looking forward to the new challenges that this job is going to bring,” Meger said. “The field of oncology is constantly changing” he explained. “There are always new drugs and therapies coming out.”
Originally aspiring to be an elementary education teacher, Meger said he followed the suggestion of a college advisor who thought he should consider pursuing a career in pharmacy. He began working part time at a local pharmacy in Duluth and love it so much that he applied for the Doctorate in Pharmacy program. “I am excited to go to work every day,” Meger said.
When he isn’t working, Meger enjoys spending time with his wife and his 6-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter. A Minnesota native (he hails from Makato), Meger also likes to play golf and watch sporting events.
